1930 Model A Pick Up

Posted by on December 20th, 2010 with 0 Comments

A client of mine has quite the collection of early Ford Pick Up bodies and parts.  This was the first of 5 that he plans to have me build.  We really worked to keep these as traditional as possible and used very little aftermarket parts, often times piecing together complete parts from various incomplete sources.

I stripped down the Model A Pick Up, (removed fenders, running boards and splash aprons) added a new wood kit and top material, as well as 17 inch ’34 wire wheels with big and little tires.  Then we added a Thomas 2-2 barrel intake with Holley 94 carburetors.  For the exhaust we fabricated a header from a Model A torque tube.

On the front we placed aftermarket BLC headlights, cut down and reworked the headlight bar for headlight stanchions, fabricated and added a stainless front spreader bar.

A centered blue dot taillight rounded out the overall 40’s stripped down hot rod look.
